TORONTO RACE REPORT

It was another solid night for Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS, as round nine of the Monster Energy Supercross season made its only Canadian stop in Toronto, ON, inside the Rogers Centre. Blake Baggett put in a top five ride.

After posting the third-fastest time of the day in qualifying, Blake Baggett used his track speed in his heat race to put on a hard charge through the field. Making aggressive passes on his competition, he secured himself 4th and a transfer spot in the main event.

As the gate dropped in the main event, the exceptional traction of the Dunlop tires hooked up on the Toronto dirt and allowed Blake to grab his first main event holeshot of the season. He was riding solid, holding down second place until going down on lap five. Blake would remount in 4th and charge back up on 3rd place rider Brock Tickle with just three laps to go. Just about to make his move, a lapper crossed in front of him in the big rhythm section, causing him to go down. He would get back up for the second time and finish the night in 5th place.

“I felt solid tonight,” said Blake. “The bike was working great and I felt fast on this track. Unfortunately, a few mistakes in the main cost me. I’m already looking forward to Daytona and ready for another podium.”

Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS now heads to Daytona, FL, for round ten of the 2017 Monster Energy Supercross series.
