BLAKE BAGGETT INJURY UPDATE
Blake Baggett underwent successful surgery on Monday to repair a broken collarbone sustained in the second moto at the opening round of the 2016 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship last Saturday. Yoshimura Suzuki announced today that Baggett hopes to return at Round 4 of the championship at High Point on June 18.
“There was a possibility that I might have been able to race this weekend,” Baggett said in a team statement. “But I was told that any fall could cause further the damage, so in consultation with my doctors and the team we decided on a recovery plan that will give me time to fully heal and be ready to go by High Point."
"It’s tough anytime you miss races, but fortunately we have break in the calendar after the next two rounds, so that will give me a good amount of time to be fully prepared at High Point.”
In the same press release issued today, the team says that James Stewart is still “day to day” for Round 2 this weekend at Glen Helen after also sustaining a shoulder injury at the opening round.
We will update with further details once they are announced.
