SEATTLE RACE REPORT

After a three-year hiatus, the 14th round of Monster Energy Supercross raced into CenturyLink Field in downtown Seattle, WA. The combination of the weather and the open-air stadium provided one of the toughest tracks Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS riders have seen all season.

Blake Baggett launched out of the gate in his heat race and made passes early on to put himself in qualifying position. He held off the charge from behind to finish 4th, directly transferring to the main event.

In the main, Blake launched out of the gate and rounded the first turn just outside the top ten in 12th. He would start working his way through the field, quickly passing up to 6th position by lap six. All looked good for Blake until getting crossed up in a rhythm section and landing on a tuff block. He remounted and as he has done all season, put his head down, pulled a tear-off from his Scott goggles and charged his way back up to 7th place by the checkered flag.

“It was a tough night,” said Blake. “I felt strong out there on the tough track; I just didn’t get the start I needed. We will be back where we should be in Salt Lake City after the break.”
