DAYTONA RACE REPORT

Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS visited the house of speed this past weekend, as round ten of the Monster Energy Supercross series headed to the famous Daytona International Speedway for the Daytona Supercross. With this round being a “hometown” race for the team, Blake Baggett didn’t disappoint with a top five ride.

Blake Baggett got a handle on the tough Daytona track early, bringing the speed and posting the 4th fastest qualifying time of the day. He didn’t let off during the night show, and as the gate dropped for his heat race, Baggett rounded the first turn in 3rd place. He held on to his position to go straight to the main event.

Blake’s main event proved to be an eventful one as he would go down on the first lap. He re-mounted in 22nd, put his head down and proceeded to slice through the field on his way to the front. He would go down again on lap 10 when he collided with tuff blocks that had been knocked on to the track. He re-mounted for a second time and charged through the field to 7th place at the checkered flag.

“It was a tough one tonight,” said Blake. “I was feeling good out there until I made a mistake at the start of the main. My speed and confidence is there, so we will look forward to Indianapolis and getting back up on the podium.”

Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC-KTM-WPS now heads to Indianapolis, IN, for round eleven of the 2017 Monster Energy Supercross series.
