MUDDY CREEK | JUNE 25, 2016

Chino, CA (June 27, 2016) – Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing was back to full capacity with two riders this weekend at a hot and humid Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tennessee, round five of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. The race was viewed not only by a large crowd on site, but by a national-television audience on NBC as well.

Blake Baggett was strong in his return to the series after a month off due to an injury sustained at the beginning of the season. Baggett raced his Yoshimura Suzuki RM-Z450 to an 8-7 for eighth overall, his best result of the season.

In his return to competition Baggett began the weekend at Muddy Creek by qualifying ninth with a time of 2:01.640. In moto one Baggett did not get a great start, but the Yoshimura Suzuki rider made serious progress through the field using the precise handling of his Suzuki RM-Z450, going from 15th out of the gate to eighth.

In the second Blake had a top-10 start out of the gate and used that to his advantage by scoring a better result, seventh at the end of the race.

For Baggett it was an encouraging comeback and a benchmark as he continues racing the rest of the outdoor nationals this summer.

“All in all, it was pretty good,” Baggett said. “I was inside the top ten in both motos. It’s a step forward and not bad for a comeback. My RM-Z worked great and I feel good, so I’m looking forward to next weekend.”

Yoshimura Suzuki and the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship swing back into action next weekend during the annual Fourth of July Holiday weekend at the RedBud National in Buchanan, Michigan, on Saturday, July 2nd. Racing coverage begins at 10:00 AM Eastern on promotocross.com. The motos can also be viewed on MAVTV and NBCSN.

You can meet and get an autograph from Blake Baggett this Friday, July 1st from 6-7:00 PM at North End Cycle Shop, 2426 Cassopolis St., Elkhart, Indiana.
